This map, created from our Freshwater Assessment GIS package, depicts native fish richness on stream reaches throughout Arizona. In addition to fish richness, the Freshwater Assessment contains reach-level data for 33 native fish, stream-systems level attribution for 51 obligate aquatic-riparian species with status under the Endangered Species Act, river flow status, rivers with Wild and Scenic designation, and dams.
We describe the methods we used to map native fish in our article Habitat mapping and conservation analysis to identify critical streams for Arizona’s native fish, published in the journal Aquatic Conservation: marine and Freshwater Ecosystems.
